A new series by Janet Evanovich and Phoef Sutton, guaranteed to make you laugh your pants off!

Emerson Knight is introverted, eccentric, and has little to no sense of social etiquette. Good thing he’s also brilliant, rich, and (some people might say) handsome, or he’d probably be homeless. Riley Moon has just graduated from Harvard Business and Harvard Law. Her aggressive Texas spitfire attitude has helped her land her dream job as a junior analyst with mega-bank Blane-Grunwald. At least Riley Moon thought it was her dream job, until she is given her first assignment: babysitting Emerson Knight.

What starts off as an inquiry about missing bank funds in the Knight account leads to inquiries about a missing man, missing gold, and a life-and-death race across the country. Through the streets of Washington, D.C., and down into the underground vault of the Federal Reserve in New York City, an evil plan is exposed. A plan so sinister that only a megalomaniac could think it up, and only the unlikely duo of the irrepressibly charming Emerson Knight and the tenacious Riley Moon can stop it.

Ms Evanovich continues to wow her readers and this one is no exception. I laughed so much while I read this book!

Riley Moon recently graduated Harvard and has just started working for Blane-Grunwald, mostly in a grunt capacity, she has to work her way up. But when the boss orders her to visit with newly inherited millionaire Emerson Knight, she was completely unbalanced by what she found. Emerson is... interesting. Extremely eccentric and not really caring about meeting with a bank person, Emerson decides that he wants to see his gold, so has Riley take him to the bank.

What follows is a serious adventure on finding a missing Grunwald brother and a ton of missing gold. Very Plum-like in that the various adventures Riley and Emerson stumble upon never seem to go the right way. This book was just great. I cannot wait for the next book!

Susan Elizabeth Phillips brings us a hilarious tale with "First Star I See Tonight"

Description:
Piper Dove is a woman with a dream—to become the best detective in the city of Chicago. First job? Trail former Chicago Stars quarterback, Cooper Graham. The problem? Graham’s spotted her, and he’s not happy.
Which is why a great detective needs a first rate imagination. “The fact is . . . I’m your stalker. Not full-out barmy. Just . . . mildly unhinged.”
Piper soon finds herself working for Graham himself, although not as the bodyguard he refuses to admit he so desperately needs. Instead, he’s hired her to keep an eye on the employees at his exclusive new nightclub. But Coop’s life might be in danger, and Piper’s determined to protect him, whether he wants it or not. (Hint: Not!) If only she weren’t also dealing with a bevy of Middle Eastern princesses, a Pakistani servant girl yearning for freedom, a teenager who just wants to fit in, and an elderly neighbor demanding that Piper find her very dead husband.
And then there’s Cooper Graham,, a legendary sports hero who always gets what he wants—even if what he wants just might be an intrepid detective hell bent on proving she’s as tough as he is.
From the bustling streets of Chicago to a windswept lighthouse on Lake Superior to the glistening waters of Biscayne Bay, two people who can’t stand to lose will test themselves and each other to discover what matters most.

I adore Ms Phillips! She has always put out great stories. Piper has always wanted to be a private detective. Her family owned one until her fathers death, where her stepmother made her purchase the business. But she is having a hard time getting her feet under her and this job is going to be the one to boost her. She is hired to investigate Cooper Graham, but ends up messing up the job when he catchers her following him. She refuses to tell him who hired her because of customer privacy. Cooper ends up hiring her to keep an eye on his employees at his night club, and is surprised when she informs him his friend and bartender is skimming him. Cooper can see her usefulness and keeps her on to keep an eye on the employees.
Piper realizes that Coop has more problems than he thinks and decides she is his best bet at a bodyguard. And bring on the chaos!

This was a fantastic book, full of laughs and love.
