Charles and Anna travel to Arizona for two things: to find Anna a new horse and for Charles to see longtime friend Joseph Sani. They do not expect to run into trouble investigating a problem with a fae. Josephs daughter in law is attacked by a fae, a curse put on her to kill her children and herself. Charles and Anna help to stop it, but upon investigating, find out there is a child missing, and a changeling left in her place. Now its a race against the clock to try and find the child, who has been missing for months.
Wowee! Well, of course Ms Briggs does not disappoint us with this new novel. There are a lot of little plots going on in this one. Anna wants a child but Charles is wary. Finding Anna a new horse. Finding the fae and the missing child. Maggie's cool attitude towards Anna. Joseph is dying and refuses to become werewolf to please his father (who is a werewolf). Teaching Courtney about being a werewolf. But it all ties in together very nicely. And.. a whole year wait for the next book! *sigh*
