Mary Kay Andrews never fails to serve us up with a great book! Her new one, Save the Date, is no different!
Description:
A savannah florist is about to score the wedding of a lifetime—one that will solidify her career as the go-to-girl for society nuptials. Ironically, Cara Kryzik doesn't believe in love, even though she creates beautiful flower arrangements to celebrate them. But when the bride goes missing and the wedding is in jeopardy, Cara must find the bride and figure out what she believes in. Maybe love really does exist outside of fairy tales after all.
Cara recently gave her husband the boot when she found out he was cheating on her with a dental hygenist. She has a fabulous flower shop that is consistently building new clientele, but the shop itself needs so much work that she isn't getting ahead as she should. When her goldendoodle, Poppy, runs off, she sees her being taken by a man. The man insists that it is his dog Shaz. Cara follows him home and even calls the police, who were no help. Cara storms home to come up with a new plan. Turns out, it was Poppy. Shaz had gotten loose and ended up at a vets office. The man, Jack, returns Poppy with some humility. Jack is rather attractive and Cara runs into him in other weddings that she works on.
Even though Cara's love life seems to be improving, her business life is heading out the window. Someone is out to take her down. Missing silver from one wedding, someone trash talking her business, especially after she books a really big wedding out from under another famous florist. Could anything else go wrong? Then her assistant quits.
This book was just awesome. I picked it up and couldn't put it down! I loved all of the characters and the story. And all the flowers! Ms Andrews has hit the nail on the head with this one. And I have to wait a whoooooole year for another -sniffle- !
